You only noticed this after purchasing the vehicle

I guess it's time to trade in for a GS

I have incidentally adjusted the front of the seat to the highest position. Heel doesn't hurt as much now, but is still sore, and now my calf, hamstring, and hip tingles and radiates.
I'm 6' 2" with a 33"/34" inseam. I weigh 224 lbs today, but over the last couple of years I've typically weighed about 235.

Check my first postings. I was aware of the bump during the test drive and prior to buying the vehicle, but couldn't even fathom that it could cause discomfort and pain, let alone the radiating pain to the point of not being able to drive it. How the hell could I know I would be in the amount of pain?

My research showed nothing of this sort on the major online forums.

Heck, I took a look at the GS AWD as well. Same fricking hump. Why???

You can raise the front of the seat without raising the back. I raise the front, lower the back all the way, slide up until my knees are about 2" from the dash, then adjust the seat back so I have my wrist on top of the steering wheel at full arm extension. I usually have the wheel about mid-range on the telescoping action. Key to getting this to work is adjusting the distance from the firewall with your feet on the floor behind the pedals. You need to have at least a small break in your knee with your feet fully under the pedals.

Did you research include people with the same body type as yours? And I don't mean just height(I'm talking height, width and weight).

Could it be because it's an AWD

If the hump really affects you maybe you should:

A: look for an SUV if you really need AWD

or

B: look for a 2wd instead so you won't have any issues with the dreaded hump.

Either way it's going to cost you $$$ to get out of that car and into something more comfortable.

Good luck

sorry to bring back old thread. i have an awful problem with my is250 awd seat. the trans hump casues me shift my hips to the left making my previous back injury worse. 2 years later i just realized the car was preventing me from getting better after driving the wifes rx350 for a week. anyone know if the non awd provide better leg placement?

Default My IS250 also causes leg discomfort

We recently completed a 2000 mile trip and the hump caused extreme discofort. I've spoken with Lexus and am not getting anywhere with them They state its a design issue and not a mechanical one that they would remedy. Has anyone had any success getting any kind of deal if they traded in the car for this reason?

Default What do you mean by complementary loss of value?

I am experiencing the leg issue wirh our IS250and Lexus corporate is doing nothing. I'm now trying to make a deal on a new RX350. How did they calculate loss of value in $$?

Thanks, Ron

The dealership will only do a trade in, with a complementary loss of value and $$.

Frankly, I wouldn't mind getting a complete refund of my car at this point.

I am 6'2", weigh about 235 and owned a 2006 IS250 AWD.

I had back and leg discomfort until I "removed my wallet".

I read in a previous post about the "fat wallet" but I think any wallet can cause discomfort.

So........if you carry a wallet in your back pocket, take it out and see if that helps.

I had the car for just 1 year and only put about 8,000 miles or so and I didn't have any discomfort when I removed my wallet from my back pocket.

Many refer to KBB Trade-In values, using the on-line calculator.

try to visit a chiropractor and change your seating position. I remember when I got my GS 2 years ago there was a member on the 3GS forum who bought a new GS and said the seat was so painful he couldn't drive the car

I notice the bump too. I really don't get any discomfort, but I have noticed that I have to be careful to completely swing my foot over to the brake. I have at times caught the edge of the accelerator when pushing the brake pedal. Weird sensation to accelerate when braking. It is a poor ergonomic design as your leg is not straight as in most cars/suvs.
