Default key battery warranty?

I called Santa Monica lexus today because my key battery is low. I asked if lexus could just swap my battery under warranty, but the girl told me i would have to pay for the battery. is this correct? what can i say in order to get a free replacement under my warranty?

Are you seriously trying to figure out a way to get a battery for free that you can buy in packs of 5 for less than $8 shipped?

This is what you can do....and then.....call 1 800 25-LEXUS.....and then. and you should get your battery for free.

HA yeah. I figure it should be covered under warranty, since that part of the price of the car, right?

You're lucky that thing even lasted that long. You can't really expect them to replace a consumable item like that. If that's the case, they would be replacing your wiper blades, battery and tires too.....

He should go ahead and ask for gas and motor oil while he's at it...

Sounds like you want a BMW instead with their 4year service/warranty.

Other sources are eBay where you can "Buy-it-now" a fresh Energizer CR1632 for $1.55 with $1.00 shipping from a seller with 100% feedback, or your local Radio Shack, where you can pick one up on sale for $2.99 (sale ends today 6/6/09 http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=3127884)
