Default tint job, is it reasonable?

Mod, pls move it if it is not in the correct place

Anyway, there is a local shop in my area quoted me for a Suntek Carbon Series tint (35%) for $200. Shop offers lifetime warranty and claims that this tint won't interfere w/ wireless signals (ie gps, bluetooth, radio, etc)

I would like to know if this tint material (suntek carbon series) is good and is the price okay?

Thanks

I have suntek and love it. I love the shade of the carbon series film, non-reflective. $200 seems reasonable depending on the quality of the work. I'm further up north and it cost around $250-$350 just to have the back windows tinted. Front driver and passenger is illegal in Vermont. The carbon series isn't metalized film so you shouldn't have any interference.

i just got mine tinted last thursday....a brand called protection gaurd or something (lifetime warranty). pretty clean job. 35% all around. About how many days should I wait before rolling down the windows? I've been leaving it out in this NC sun for a couple of days.

I think $200 is doable especially around my area.

Any tips on detecting a bad tint job, guys?

Not familiar with the brand, but the price is good if the quality of materials and installation is high.

I have SunTek on my windows (for a year 1/2 now), and I like it. It has held up well. I got 18% rear and 35% front and was charged $210.

The guy who's gonna tint my car said he doesn't need to take apart the door to install the tint around the tweeter area....what are your opinion on it? Was your door taken apart when installed or it can be done w/o taking the glass out? Thanks

In general for our car it's better to take out the door panel to get good coverage. In my case, the shop did mine without taking out and turned out ok. I couldn't figure out how they were able to do it.
But they did manage to damage one of the window trims with heatgun and never bother to mention it to me. :-(

My door panels were taken off (shop is very experienced) and the job came out excellent.

the guy who did my tint didn't take the panels off, and he had to come back and redo it again. he didn't get into the corners well enough around the tweeter and it start peeling when i first rolled the window down. He came back and took the panels off this time around.
