Not trying to hate but, does anyone else feel the is250's are overpriced? well equipped 250's retail around 36-39k plus tax and title. I know most of us got around 4-5k off, but it seems we pay alot of money for 204 horsepower on a 3500 pound car. Heck, even the 350's seem's a bit pricey.

i would hardly call the is350 overpriced. compare the specs with the a4, c350, 335. it has much better performance than the a4 and c350, performance pretty much the same maybe slightly less than the 335 and it costs less than all of them.

anyways i would never consider a base car. gotta have my cars loaded every time.

I have an 07 350 with Nav tungstein pearl x-package and it is an awesome car. I am very happy with the 350. I have tried the 250 and it was a bit slow for my taste. I felt my old 93 honda accord could have kept up with the 250.

I spent about 6 months looking all over the place (ebayautos, cars.com, autotrader, craigslist) for the right car at the right price. I was able to purchase my car for $32k out the door. The car had 22k miles at the time. Not the best deal, but good enough compared to other dealers selling 350s in Los Angeles. The key here is to be patient and you will find the right car for you.

I also test drove the g35 sedan and acura TL. I can tell you that the 350 rapes those 2 cars for breakfast.

In the end, I highly recommend you to consider getting the 350. I am sure you will know what I am talking about after test driving the 250 & 350.

Let us know what you are going to go with =)

250 and 350 exterior looks exactly the same
(yes I know the huge difference of 100hp,,trust me,,but that didn't bother me much)

speed and 100 extra HP that you get from 350 wasn't a big concern for me
because if you are REALLY looking for speed and HP, Lexus is the wrong car to begin with IMO

I just wanted something that looks nice,,and 2 year later,,I'm still happy
I don't care how "nice" the 250 looks. The IS is "supposedly" Lexus' "sportiest" model, it's a disgrace and embarassment that they produced the IS250 which can be outrun by V6 avalons and camry's..... I don't get buying a "sports sedan" that can be outrun by soccer mom avalons and camrys.... To me, a 250 is like a big fat TYPE R sticker..... basically a poser car....

This has nothing to do with 350 owners wanting the ISF. The 350 has enough power to outrun avalons, camrys, accords, and altimas..... thats the natural order of things...

There are like a million posts on here every day about "how can I make my 250 faster." People by 250s, then drop another $1k intake and exhausts for like ~10whp, when they could've gotten 100 FACTORY hp for ~$4K.

It's just a choice of what satisfies your needs
Ditto. . .I was in the same position. . .fully loaded 250 or base 350. . . went with the 250 and I still love it.

But if you find a fully loaded 350. . .go for it!

How are we in the wrong car for speed and HP? Then you probably don't know that the IS350 does 0-60 in high 4 seconds and 1/4 mile in low 13 second stock. Can you name me a car that has luxury and speed for 40k?

Exactly. And still maintain warranty.

yes I'm well aware of those numbers from IS350 cuz I did my research before I bought mine IS250
I said IS250/350 is the wrong car if you are really into SPEED and HP,
because IMO, if you are REALLY into speed and HP,
306 HP and 0-60 in high 4 seconds and 1/4 mile in low 13 second stock is not FAST enough for you,,you won't be satisfied with those numbers and will want to add more HP and make your car faster, but you can't because we can't really add anything to boost that much HP

and I'm also aware that most people are very very satisfied with their IS350, and I understand why.

I would had definitely picked up IS350 if the dealer had the ones that I was looking for. Unfortunately they said they had to order it. So I went with 250 and I'm still happy with it.

i got my 250 in april of 06 when finding any IS sittin on a lexus lot waiting to be sold was unheard of, reason why i got the 250 is becuase i need the car immediatly and could not afford to wait 4 months to special order (all the 350 with any upgrades were all special ordered at the time) price of the 350 wasnt the issue, and i deffinatly didnt want to pay more than 35000 for a car and have just the base model...
i still have my 250 and im glad i got it, i probably would have gotten in so much truouble with the 350, and the fact that i can get low to mid 30's on the highway works wonders for my drives. this just comin from a 250 owner im pretty sure it has enough power for everyday use....unless ur one of those folks that always has to be in front...
it all boils down to what u want/need...as we have seen some will say get the fast car and some will say get the loaded one....
