Default Question about trunk camera installation and OEM partnumbers.

Here is the photos, one of the trunk with OEM camera installed, and other with OEM camera bought on ebay:

The question is about that plastic "ring" around the camera. This thing is the part of the camera (I mean sold with the camera) or this thing is the part of the trunk lid? Or this thing is the separate part and could be bought alone?

I think it's part of the trunk. There is no separate part for it but I might be wrong. See http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...=9&catalogid=2

I didnt found the separate number too, but may be it exists...

If somebody have that "trunk lid finish part" (damaged or new), please, make a detailed photo of that place!

Unfortunately, that part is only sold with the finish panel.

Could you please make the photo from the other side of that thing, to see how it is fasten to the panel? It is made of rubber?

Yes, it's a hardish kind of rubber. It fastens to the back exactly like a grommet. It should pull out quite easily. Actually, that's all it is: A square grommet.

So the camera is fastened by its clips to the metal part of the trunk, not this plastic finish?

Interesting... why did they made such a big hole for the camera (so much space around the camera body, so much space for dirt)? It looks like the joint between camera (metal trunk lid) and plastic finish is not waterproof?

P.S. On your close up photo this grommet looks like totally equilateral, but on the overview it looks gaunt. Optical distortion?

The camera is fastened by a couple of screws.

Here's the part number with the camera, you may be able to use car-parts.com to find a decent trunk lid with the camera already installed, I know where to find an obsidian trunk lid with camera.

I think it is possible just to drill a hole on original trunk finish cover.

^^ Although it is still quite expensive, ($688.) the trunk lid is not where the camera is housed. The picture I posted is of the rear trunk lid finish panel. It's plastic and is available from Lexus parts already painted body color.

I know, but the camera is fastened to the metal trunk lid (which is same for all modifications) and the plastic part could be modified.

BTW I need to buy camera connector (for the trunk wiring harness) I found that partnumber - 90980-12211, is it correct? Doest it includes the terminals (pins) or it is just the plastic housing?

P.S. Dont you know, is the hood of IS250 is aluminium?

Yes, that is the correct part number for the camera connector. It does not include the terminals, wires, or pins.

Holy crap! It seems that there 2 metal trunk lids modifications!!! And for non-nav edition there no hole for the camera!

But at last there is some connector, very similar to the camera connector... Am I right?

P.S. Do you have trunk lid photos? Is there just a hole for the camera or there some intricate pimple? Screws are twisted in directly to the metal or to the nut?
