Trading a car question! Quick reply before Monday Please!
I recently looking for used IS350 in white with options but I can't find any. I posted a thread yesterday for a Black saphire pearl used IS350 2008 for price check but that car is sold today when I called. Here is another options that left to me..my car and a new 2009 Is350
IS250rwd 2007 Prem,Nav,Hid,18in,GFX front lift,Oem window tinted. Got 7,500 miles dealer willing to give me 26k for trade in.
Same options for the IS350 Nav,Prem,Hid,18in wheel. 2009........Total trade in amout $13,XXX total drive out.......I ask them down to 12k for total drive out. Is 12k is the very best price for that trade in. 2010 IS will be coming out in another 5 months. Do you guy think I can get the 2009 for that price above. BTW the 2009 brand new MSRP is $42,675.
Also I saw the 0-60 from the IS350 is different for the 2009... 5.6sec. is the performance decreasing to the early models from 2006-2008 at 5.3 sec? Or they are the same.
P.S I really like to look for a used one so I can save some money but I can't find any with white with navigation at all and I'm looking for 2008 above.

Even though Ive always though the best way to go is to buy a new car, but You should definitely look for a used one, it can save you like 5 grand. and the reliability of lexus makes it worth it buying one used.look on auto trader, ebay, maybe on the classifieds here on the forum.
the 2009 model is the same thing as the 2008 but the wheels, tail lights, and front/rear bumbers are a lil bit different. the interior has more trim options, but still, its the same thing unless you have OCD and really want an 2009 model...
the performace is also the same, lexus understated the performance from 08 to 09 just to make the ISF look faster. BMW does the same thing with the 335i and the M3.
the IS350 can do 0-60 in around 5 seconds any day, I've done 4.7 plenty of times on good weather, and taking some weight off the car. but the car should do low 5 seconds under nromal conditions any day.
if the dealership is giving you 26K for your car, i think thats a great deal, lately used car prices have gone up and you can use it to your advantage by trading your car and getting some thing slightly used. with like 10k miles on it.
ive seen some slightly used 2008 IS350's for around 30 grand. look into it.

an 09 is350 for only 12k over your 2 year old, 26k is250? that's a great deal. I would have tried to get them down a few thousand more (maybe 11 or 10k) but that's just me (the way the market is it's doable).

Option 1
Nav
HID,18in wheel
Prem
MaL
MSRP 42,085.............. with the ML is 41,145
Option 2
I would love to get the
Luxury Pack

Can I be able to get the option 2 with ML for 13k Trade? Or Can I be able to get option 1 with the ML for 12k......... I would love to get the 2 options with ML I'm willing to pay 13k on it.

See if carmax will match the dealer price or better and just sell it to carmax for 26k. that is a GREAT DEAL. Then look around for an is350 in the meantime. You should be able to get even the 08s for low 30s. I've seen one in the forum for sale for 32k with < 5k miles. So sell yours when you can get a high price and then look around separately for a new one. If you read around, you should always separate your trade-in with a new car purchase. You probably will get the same amount for the old car but you would have been able to negotiate much more for the new car (closer to invoice).

I paid 7k for my upgrade. but I got a used one. I went from the 250 no nav to 350 fully loaded. Old one had 26k miles, new one has 18k. But you'll be getting a new one. It is your decision as to if you'll be happy with a 12k upgrade. I am cheap so I'll try to get as much for my old car while getting as low as possible for the new one.
