What's gotten so bad with your wood that it needs refinishing? Never heard of this.

I personally have tiny little scratch/swirls that bother me.
My question is this: Perhaps it's a ridiculous question (i simply dont know) or perhaps is ridiculous for me to want to do this to the wood. I'm getting a system that fills the trunk with a lot of custom fiberglass, in a particular color. Can the existing wood trim be painted or is that like silver plating your platinum watch? I want similar colors around to accent the new fiberglass audio equip.

ughhhhh. i looked through trim overlays..if anyone can find ANYTHING AT ALL..a trim over lay for a MANUAL TRANS. PM me haha..for u patrick i wouldn't recommend painting the wood. to be honest if you could get the fiberglass custom cut to fit over your wood trim that would be the easiest way to go..or just buy an overlay..if u have automatic i was just on some sites for them black/silver/carbon fiber..its rediculous what u can find.

^^ yeah, most stuff is for auto trans... never seen anything for the manual... even the replacement OEM from sewell only has auto option...
Now... if only there was a cheaper way of getting the OEM silver "sport" trim... ... then get the matching F-Sport shift **** and CF side things

3M makes a Plastic Cleaner and a Plastic Polish. The Polish will bring the clear-coat back to a glossy smooth finish. If you have deeper scratches you can use the Cleaner then finish it with the polish.
The stuff works great. I also use it for the temp and radio lenses on a non-navi.

I should have clarified the original post...
Here is my thought, I would remove the panel (probably just the one around the shifter) and buff out the scratches. I would then re-coat them with a clear finish enough times to provide a thicker more protective layer.
What do you guys think...

Theres that carbon fiber fabric wrap that looks pretty badd-*** in my opinion. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=185836
I'm in the market for a used 350 and was thinking about this to cover the wood, which I dont like.
