Suggestions for White Halogen DRL/HI-Beams?
I use my hi-beams, so I have decided not to switch my halogens to LED/HID. However, I am not very knowledgeable of what type of white halogen to get. I appreciate any suggestions on white halogens and from who to purchase them!

hmm I'm not sure which LED kit or LED bulbs you're talking about, but you still have high beam capabilities with them installed. mine have been working perfectly fine since I got the V-LED LED kit installed. looks fantastic.

I understand that I would still have high beam capabilities, but they are not nearly as functional as halogens.

i use IPF 5000k halogen bulbs in highbeams
but keep in mind that you wont get white DRLs no matter what halogen bulb you use
it may become a little whiter but will still remain yellow

That's not true because I've seen them on other 2IS, but thanks for your suggestion on type of bulbs.

i've been searching for high beam bulbs to make DRL blue/white (other than LED bulbs) but even the most blue-coated bulbs still give yellowish light in DRL mode cus the spiral inside the bulb in half-power (DRL) mode doesn't go hotter than yellow
so I ended up turning the DRL function off completely ))

Ok, here is the part where we say - those that have used LED's for the high beam, have bright white light in daily driving DRL mode, but not the same high beam power at night as the normal halogen bulb that would be there.
So you have the trade off - LED = white light in DRL mode, but not the highbeam power in the dark that you would want for high beams.
Yes, many have said on this forum that they dont care about the trade off, because they never drive at night where they would need highbeams..
I personally dont want to lose my highbeam power but will upgrade to the Piaa lightbulbs because they are really white when on but of course, in DRL daily driving mode, they are running at half power or so..

its really a matter of 5 minutes. you'll need the dealer's service computer (Intelligent tester 2) though. All one needs to do is disable the DRL option in the service menu using that device. No way in hell it can cost 55 bucks
