Default Rear brake install problem

I have a question for some of you mech. incline people. I'm trying to change my rear brakes on my IS 350. I have probably done 50 or so brake jobs on front and rear. I'm having trouble installing the outside pad there doesn't seem to be enough room to slide them in. Did anybody have this problem. It seem that the pin that holds the caliper not the bolt is frozen so the caliper will not move in and out. I know you don't have to remove the caliper to change the brakes but it won't go in so I tried that. Any suggestions.

There is a recall on the rear brakes, something to do with the sliders not functioning properly, perhaps your issue is related?

I have a 06 350 and it is going in for a few recalls, one of which is the rear brake issue. I hope that helps.

Definitely sounds related to the recall - pins sticking. They apply a grease to them and replace the dust boots, AFAIK. I had it done last week.

its part of the recall. I had the same experience with an 06 GS300. The slide pin is seized which wont let you separate the caliper and bracket. They will replace the whole caliper under warranty. Maybe you can convince them to replace the pads since it probably wore uneven due to the seized slide bolt.
