How bad does your IS250 sound in the morning when cold?
Wheezing? Straining? Throw in the amplified ticking and I am reminded of my 4th grade teacher's 1970's, exhaust pipeless Plymouth Duster being started. Once things warm up, she's fine. So just curious if anyone else thinks these cold mornings need to end soon!

I don't know about all that but mine sounds bad-a$$. The clip below is cold start.

But for real - I like the ticking because it reminds me that I have a high-pressure fuel system.
Also, these cars run super lean upon cold start to aid in warming up the catalysts but this also changes the exhaust note.
It's all about perspective I figure.

What's cold to you? Try starting the car in 0 degree weather. It does NOT sound pretty. She starts up though. That's what matters.
John,
When did you get exhaust?????? Sounds good

when it gets really cold, my car struggles to get started. I wonder how a struggling battery would sound on these cars, since you can't do the characteristic turning the key ignition and holding it down thing.

Vik, I had the exhaust way back in the summer. Just never got around to putting up a video clip until the weather turned cold.

Giggity , That's what I'm talking about...however atleast when I say it theres validity to it. Try driving a 2GS in the snow with summer tires... Both of your ideas/logic/usage are club lexus approved however

Well it doesn't get too cold where I live (plus my baby stays in the garage over night), but my car doesn't sound too bad when I fire it up in the morning. My GReddy exhaust does seem to be a wee bit louder though.

mine actually sounds like what you described when i do a cold start.. it doesnt' sound normal, but after it warms up a bit it doesn't sound like that anymore. what rpm range should i wait until before i consider it warmed up? i usually wait until 1400..
