HID lights installed at dealer....
Hi everyone,
Well I turned in my 2007 IS 250 for a 2009 IS 250 GFM cause I was able to lower my lease payment substantially plus I got 2 years or 24,000 miles of free scheduled maintenance included.
Love my 2009 but one thing I was not happy with was the fact that Lexus stopped producing cars with the HID lights for 09. Never realized what a difference it makes til you go back to driving a car with Halogen lights. Looked at 6 dealerships for the HID's on an 09 and without special ordering it just could not find one.
Has anyone heard of any of the dealers installing the HID lights? I know i can do it myself but am not really good at that sort of thing. Keyes Lexus here in SOCAL just started doing it as I saw a car on their lot with HID's added. Obviously no AFS... but it did have HID's.
Any feedback will be appreciated and if I can ever figure out how to upload my pictures I would love to post a pic of my new ride. Could someone provide a bit of guidance for uploading the pic and cause I would like to share my new toy...
thanks everyone!!!

My 08 IS250 requirements were hard to find at the time and it did not come with the HIDs. I mentioned that I wanted to install them to my salesman on a number of different occasions and he in turn offered to have them installed for $50 after I bought a kit.
I bought the Xexon Depot kit, contacted the sales rep who told me to come on in when ever I was ready. Set it up, arrived at the service center, met my salesman and then we immediately got push back from the service guys because the install involved non-OEM parts. I stood back and let the sales guy apply the pressure.
I should also mention, prior to this I gave the salesman an excellent review and at the same time slammed the service at a competitor dealership. The competition salesman, I mean salesperson, had no product knowledge of the IS. The owner would have been embarrassed. That review was sent around in an all-staff email. As a result, he offered to have the HIDs installed for free.
At any rate, the dealership will install them for you but as you can see you have to work it, get to know these guys, establish some chits and then indirectly call them in. A couple of guys got in trouble over this "lunch break" install but that is nothing compared to a sales manager getting fired over my car. I've rambled on long enough and that's a whole other story.
