Default Just picked up a 2006 IS 350

Happy Holidays everyone!

I am so excited to be a part of this forum. After weeks of deciding whether to trade in my ES 300, I finally did...traded it in for a 2006 IS 350 sport package w/37k miles. Got it fully loaded for $28k. Is that a bad price?

Features include
1. HID AFS
2. Mark Levinson w/navigation
3. Pre-collision with dynamic radar cruise control
4. Intuitive parking assist with front and rear parking sensors (you don't usually find this on an IS 350, but the one I bought was a demo car Toyota used for auto shows)
5. Heated and ventilated front seats
6. Rain sensing wipers

Will post pics soon. What sort of fuel economy is everyone getting w/their IS 350s? Is 21/28 city/hwy about right?

that is not real world fuel economy... real world fuel economy for most forum members on a IS350 seems to be around 17-23 mpg with mainly highway miles.... my lifetime average mpg is 21 .... you will only achieve 21 city if you rarely ever stop and 28 on highways if you take long drives on flat land...

Price is just "ok", high miles and demo use are not pluses.

CONGRATS!!! You know what, it doesnt matter how much you paid for your car. As long as your happy with it, its all good. Yeah 21/28 sounds about rite! But it all depends on how you drive your car.. lolz.. Any future mods yet??

Yeah totally.

First tint the front and back windows, add a spoiler and then thinking about getting the IS-f exhaust and the forged wheels and brakes. Speaking of which, do you know if the IS-f forged wheels and brakes will fit with the existing offset?

Congrats on the IS350, huge upgrade over the ES. Consider tinting in moderation.

That is the EPA mileage rating from before the EPA changed it's testing procedure to be more in line with how people actually drive. Under the revised test, the rating is 18/25.

My results: In mixed suburban driving I get around 23.5 MPG in the summer, and about 21.5 MPG in the winter. With lots of short trips in cold weather, I've seen mine dip as low as 17, on the highway in warm weather with the A/C off, I've hit 29.

The pre-collision system is a lot more unusual an option for a 2IS than the parking sensors are... the PCS is a $2000+ option, the parking sensors is like $400.

And personally I find 21/28 to be dead on accurate... I've only had the car a little over a year but the two longish (700ish miles roundtrip) trips I've taken that were almost all highway were both right around 28 mpg... and city mileage is around 20-22 for city trips in the 20-40 minute range where I'm usually driving 25-45 mph... the only time I drop below 20 is when I'm taking a lot of very short (less than 15-20 min) trips on a tank with a lot of stitting at lights.
