Looks like the clearcoat was really thin, which caused it to chip away at the sharp edges. It will continue to chip like that because the high pressure will get between the CF overlay and the plastic and force them to separate. To stop it from getting any worse, you can apply several layers of clearcoat to keep the water from getting in there.
