That sucks! Maybe I'll have to contact them. I think everyone has there own version of what is ridiculous. Personally I would pay top dollar for a quality part that sets my car apart from everyone else. It is products like this that breeds envy and jealousy in our fellow enthusiasts. Like that super car everyone wishes they had..... Ok maybe that's a little far on the analogy. Either way it's worth it if you feel it's worth it.

Toyota came out with a dash kit for my 08 Tundra, same fake carbon plastic crap. I mean really why would you put that on a fifty thousand dollar truck? It's like using pleather on the seats! We're not modding a Honda Civic here people, it's a frickin Lexus!

My expert opinion would be they had the OEM Silver/Gunmetal trim pieces painted or something....

Below was a TRD production piece that was offered for the IS300

Example: TRD Carbon Style Front Grille for the IS300 (Painted)

Those parts actually do cost well over $300...

The reason for the high cost on the silver trim is because you actually get a whole new center console piece with shifter indicator and cupholder.. The 4 door switches and ash tray cover are not that expensive individually.

Now moving on to the parts in question. This certainly reminds me of painted or CF Style platic finishing... found on the TRD IS300 racing grill.
A bit too pricey if thats the case..

Is anyone interested in a Brand New OEM Bird's Eye Maple Wood Interior for the IS?? Its out of 2008 with 0 miles on it.. it's valued over $1,000

Nah I was referring to the center grill peice that someone else just mentioned below this post.

I'm confused. This thread started off with people saying it looks fake, then, all of a sudden people seem to be convinced it is fake without any proof?

If its real CF, the price sounds right.

Come on, people play $300-$400 for Carbon fiber stickers. A direct replacement is worth a lot more.

That's true, we still do not have proof it is fake, we are all making assumptions based on the picture provided. If anyone has proof it is fake or real CF please let us know.

The original Carson kit at about $375 were NOT stickers. They were real CF weaves on a solid substrate. Stickers are something you peel off a backing, the Carson CF kit was no such thing.

I still would rather get the 09 gray wood trim over this anyway, but this is nice because it is actual replacement pieces. If I had a choice between real CF overlays for $300-$400 and this for a $1000 I would pick this.

If I was considering this I would wait a bit to see if Sewell comes out with any more pieces that match, like a shifter or vents etc.

Oh. So how does the carson kit get applied? I figured it was like the ones in my Eclipse's kit, where you peeled the backing and stuck on the Carbon fiber.
