They charge an arm and a leg here in TX so I do it myself. I use Valvoline 5w30. This little 2.5 L taking 6.5 qts???=( My Accord only takes 3.5 qts and its a 2.2 L. Oh wells, 2 more cyl needs more lube.

Until I can find a decent ramp and the canister opening tool, I have to go to the Toyota dealership for oil change ($34 in half an hour) - they use Castro blend and I get a chance to check out some new cars while I'm there. As for the 5w20 vs 5w30, back in the days when I was reading oil forums (BITOG), They're pretty much the same hence my 06 IS350 recommended (5w30) and newer IS may recommend 5w20. The 5w30 maybe a tad thicker at the beginning but once warm up, it goes down to 5w20. The German Castro 5w30 however, is really a thicker oil closer to 10w30. Once my warranty is out, I probably may even try 0w20.

Deacon,
Probably the best oil to use in the 1gen and 2gen. 5w30 for hot summer heavy driving is fine as well. Mobil 1 stands the test of time and since the 2gen is easy to change like the 1gen, much worth doing yourself as the oil and filter only cost about $30 for synthetic.
