It's the optional foot rest. It works well. It adjusts in and out, up and down...

Thanks I'll check it out. BTW, it looks like you don't have any padding under the car seat, I suggest you do so to protect your leather seat back there. Mine is well padded and when I take out the car seat, the leather is still immaculate.

I normally do. I need to put something back under the carseat...
I think the coolest thing bout this seat is the speakers in the headrest.
