Electroluminescent Needle Problem
Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem... The lighting on both my speedometer and tachometer needles are not consistently bright . A portion about one inch in length is dimmer than the rest of the needle on both gauges. I'll attempt to photograph it later and post the pics.
Anyone else having issues with their speedometer / tachometer needles?
Anyone know how to fix it?

well thats why you have a 4 year bumper to bumper warranty! covers everything from one end of the bumper to the next if it breaks by itself! all except for wear and tear items like tires and light bulbs (though bulbs they sometimes will replace for you for free as a courtesy gesture. just bring it in and have them fix it.

Has anyone taken apart the intrumentation panel to replace the LED's for speedometer needles themselves?
Have a 2006 IS350 that is out of the 4 year warranty now with the same problem. 2 "sections" of the speedometer needle are very dim.

Westside Lexus replaced mine this week too. Took them almost 3 days because they have to hold your vehicle while the entire unit (including odometer) is programmed and shipped for install. They said once they call in the order, you can't move the car and put more miles on it. I noticed the traction off indicator looks different, but otherwise the unit looks the same as the old. Only the 1/4 tip of my speedo was out and they said it the new cluster is the only way to fix this problem and costs $1,500 if your'e out of warranty. Good luck -jake
