Default My Accident and Fix (pics inside)

I was headed to work this morning and this guys just pulled right in front of me (he was trying to make a left turn). I did not even had the time to press the brake (I don't remember) and here is the result....

I'm ok. The weird thing is the passenger side airbag went off without anybody there. I thought the passegner side airbag was not suppose to deploy if no ones there. I think the car is totaled, how much do you think will the insurance compensate me? I only had 15,003 miles on it.

Glad to hear that your ok!

Your car should be totaled based on the pics i see. 45mph would cause major damage.

1. If there is frame damage which there is a 95% chance

2. Front bumber, front fender, hood, headlights, fog lights

Right there your over $5000 in parts and we havent even started talking about frame damage or painting.

I totaled my 1IS and it never drove the same. Dont take the car back !!
If you financed the car i hope you have GAP insurance.

I had an accident last spring--swerved away from an oncoming car in my lane, and hit a 12" high curb. No frame damage, just front bumper, grille, reservior, ONE headlight, and some other stuff. No tire damage, no hood damage, no side fenders. They even could re-use the headlamp washers. Final cost: $9,500.

Diminshed value will be a problem. If your state doesn't have a formula for it (Penna did not, when I made my claim), your own insurance company may not cover it--check you policy. That would be something you'd have to sue the other driver for.

Our car has no frame, it is a unibody construction. I guess you can call the the front structure from fire wall up a frame but these items got replaced at OEM joints. I will post some pix later. I hoping to get the car back towards the end of next week, mid-Oct.

Sorry to hear about the car. Most important thing is that you're okay.

We both have insurance. I will refuse to take it back if it is not totaled by the adjustor because I know as an engineer they can't make it the same.
