Lower ball joints RWD
Since I’m replacing the whole ball joint is it really necessary too get a ball joint separator they’re since they are pointing upwards ?? I know for the AWD versions the sway bar links a bit different meaning one is just a bar which is the (RWD version ) and the other has a ball joint at the end of it. Or should I tap the down on the ball joint assembly itself and let it fall down? I know most ball joints if you don’t have a separator you just have hit of upwards too loosen it. Please help me

There are several ways to remove ball joints. The link Mike provided above is the most sanitary method. Depending on what is being replaced, one has different options.
More savage methods are the ugly and destructive pickle fork (damages boot, stud, joint and surface), the brute force deflection method where one uses a hammer to momentarily distort housing with the tapered ball in it (marks housing, 95% effective), and to your point hammering downward on the stud (damages stud, works 50% of the time).
Air hammers can also be used. The threads of the stud will be wasted.
Let us know what you decide or if you have more questions.
