yea 700+awhp r32 is real look it up on youtube. eip r32 look it up.. i dont have a 700 hp. hpa company is located n canada. not usd. ive spent 7k on a complete turbo sytem and fuel system exhaust nothing more. i have no internals it gets the work done. im pushing out about 380hp. im not trying to b the fastest im just staying out of trouble, it keeps me from clubs a drama. think what u want.. building has taken me a few yrs since i got it its expensive u have a point there.

all im trying to say is thats it possible to get that much power out of these cars. like i said b4 stock for stock the r32 is slower. if u have the money then just get a ferrari or something. i dont mean any disrespect to anyone!!! so plz dont try to make me look dumb on here. im not a competative guy or try to b. i keep it cool with ppl i have a passion for my vws and my lexus, im not a pro tuner or work for any car mag. this is my personal opinion thats all.

pssh just buy a FOX 5.0 mustang for 3k and drop in 5k into the motor or even a new crate motor for 5k and you can blow away alot of stuff... course in a straight line only BUT STILL, 5.0 = best bang for the buck

i have a hard time believing the IS350 is faster than the R32, the R32 is equip with a DSG tranny, with the launch control use on a 1/4 mile, (thats what this topic is all about.) the DSG shift so quick, our tranny (atleast my 250 tranny) is no where close to the response time on the DSG

afterall, lexus is a luxury brand, the car is heavy....

The VW is also heavy. I had an 08 R32 for about 4,000 miles, and my brother has an 08 IS350. I've driven both pretty extensively, and the IS350 is definitely faster. The R32 is definitely a fun little car though, DSG is okay, a bit clunky starting off. R32 is heavy with the AWD, but that helps its surefooted handling.

The R32 is a bit more engaging to drive than the IS350. IS350 has softer steering, etc. I love the steering wheels that VW puts in the GTI and R32. Big, chunky, flat bottomed. Exhaust note on the R32 was nice as well. Too bad the R32 sucked down gas like non other, nearly 90% highway driving an I netted about 21/22 mpg.

VW R32, 0-60 is 6.5 seconds according to VW, 3,547 pounds, 250 HP, 236 lb-ft of torque.

IS350, 0-60 is 5.3 seconds according to Lexus, 3,527 pounds, 306 HP, 277 lb-ft of torque.

I have a hard time believing you have a hard time believing the 350 is faster than the R32 lol. What's so hard to believe? The R32 is smaller and lighter, just not enough to make up for the power difference. 50 HP and 40 lb of torque is quite a difference, and 1.2 sec difference in 0-60 times is an *** whooping, the numbers Lexus puts out are conservative too, I remember someone one here quoting sub 5 sec 0-60 times.

well, VW always underrate their horsepower rating. people dyno the 2.0T at around 180 to 190, on a stock 200hp rate car, same goes to the 1.8T, actually most european car underrate their power.
and Car & driver publish the TT3.2 @ 5.1sec, which is pretty much the same car.

Hopes crushed I thought it was a video of a Nissan R32 vs a Lexus IS350. Instead people are squabbling about how crazy their VW's can get. Pass the popcorn.
