Default IS250 Sharkfin

Hey everyone,

I am a UK IS250 owner and here in the UK our IS250's dont come with sharkfins as we do not have the sat option on our cars.

I like the look of the sharkfin and ordered the IS250 sharkfin from Japan. It comes painted in the color code of your car.

Anyway having received it, I need to plan to installation. I am installing this purely for show reasons. I couldnt find any threads about this.

I am looking for a DIY guide to get access to underneath the roof from the inside so that I can make a hole and bolt it down so that the rubber washer compresses down well at the top.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

thanks

Will 3M tape be strong enough to hold that on for a very long time? wont the rain and driving wind eventually force it off? I dont want it to fly into someones windscreen while driving at high speed.

If you dont want rain to get to the tape, just cork it with those invisible cork lol

I would have to agree with everyone else, the 3M tape should do the trick.

Just make sure you have the 3M double-sided tape that's rated at 5lbs. It has a red-backing on the roll of tape itself..

3M tape mated to a very clean surface, allowed to cure for a few days should do just fine. Just watch out if you go into a carwash. That might be enough pressure to knock it off.

Although I can't understand why you'd want to put it on just for show reasons?

That's the best! I've used that on various items, and you literally almost can't remove anything once it's attached with the 3M tape! The little shark fin will never come off using this stuff.

leave it in your glub compartment and everytime you park your car, place it on top. when you go back to your car, take it off and back into the glub box

3M tape should work fine unless you intend to fly down the road at 130mph+ all the time. just put a lotttttt of it on. i just installed an HID kit on my friend's car and the ballast was mounted on with a lot of 2lb 3M tape and when you tug on it, it moves the whole car
