If I can give a little tip:

When you replace your cabin filter, spray Lysol on both sides of the new filter prior to its installation.

Read the benefits of Lysol here:

I read through the thread and the suggested replacement cycle is every 10-30k miles. How often (time-wise) should we replace the filters though. My car doesn't have much miles, but I've had it a little over a year.

myculito, good tip on the lysol.

No need to this, the brand new filter is clean. And of course, the Lysol will promote their own product especially at their own website. Also, if you ever did this, you will be breathing in chemicals in the product at higher concentration that may be harmfull to you.

I didn't say there was a need to do this, it was a recommendation. And I'm not talking about unloading the whole Lysol canister onto the filter. I've done this for my 2 prior cars, and you may notice the Lysol scent the first couple times you turn on your AC, but that's about it.

It's just a tip.

I just replaced my cabin filter too with the new model. Definitely much cheaper than my original.

Rockauto.com is reliable.
I've bought from them many times.

Is this different than the AC filter? If so, how much are those running?

The original one in my brand new IS-F looks just like the Sewell Lexus part.

No activated charcoal what so ever.

The part number that Elly posted is not even for an IS. The part number that I come up with is 87139-30070 which is superceded by a 8713-07010. I physically looked at it and it is, in fact, a carbon impregnated filter. MSRP is $32.95

Default I took a pic of it.

I took a quick snapshot of the 87139-30070. I don't have a 07010 to look at, though.
