Yeah but JD Power has the 2008 Volkswagen Passat
#1 in the Midsize catagory and in the Large Car Segment,the 2008 Dodge Magnum #1.

Sounds like us ISx50 owners have the IS-F to thank for giving the IS line-up a huge bump on the performance spectrum, which I'm sure helped it get such an award!

They sure talked a lot about the IS-F only to go on to say the IS has great visibility and fuel economy but poor acceleration. Kinda funny because my gas mileage isn't great, I have poor visibility, but I have no qualms with the acceleration of the car. It's obvious to that it was the IS250 vs the 325 in this shootout.


Among the 18 models in the entry premium vehicle segment, the 2008 Lexus IS achieves the highest ratings in six of the 10 categories that comprise the study, including:


vehicle exterior

vehicle interior

seats

climate control

visibility/driving safety

fuel economy
Additionally, the IS scores at or above the segment average in each of the other four categories.

According to consumers, the top three attributes of the IS compared to the entry premium vehicle segment are: the rating of fuel economy and range between fuel stops; front-end styling; and rear-end styling. The bottom three attributes of the IS are: rear passenger room; passing power at highway speeds; and performance during rapid acceleration from a stop.

The number one consumer complaint on the IS (from JDPower) was brake dust. Doesn't surprise me, but it that's the biggest problem I am happy that I bought an IS
