My swtich is on the "ON" position all the time.... and I can control them as I please, when the car is ON...
..But when I turn my car off.. they go off too....

you can have it on all the time even when the car is off if you tapped the electricity from a constant +12 volt source. joez n i chose to tap it from an ignition only source... meaning electricity only when the car is in the acc or on position. this way we don't accidentally drain the battery if we forget to turn off the leds when the car is shut off.

I personally would run them separate so that you could use both of them with out the lights needing to be on. Its nice to run the fogs with out the lights on I was going to do this with my HID fogs but never had the time to get around to it. I am surprised no one has done this yet
Makes sense

this is all preference! there is NO right "or" wrong way to wire them up. Do it how you like or want to use them people!

Your are right, there is No right & wrong..
But if your prone to leaving things left ON, why pick a constant power source for the LEDs??
Let me fill you in a bit more...
The OEM JDM Hid kit is entirely a plug & play kit for the HID Projectors.
So with out any wire hacking, the FOG lights will only turn ON with the Headlights ON..
The DRL - LED bulbs function, have a separate stand alone DRL switch, which needs to be wired to a separate power source..
For obvious reasons I chose a source that powers up once the ignition is turned ON..
There would no reason (for me) to turn them ON or OFF with the car OFF...
Hope that makes more sense now..

P.S. - As a side note, to run our FOGS (even OEM) "stand alone",
there are a few wires that need to be hacked and re-routed so that the fogs can fire up with out the headlights being ON..
