Default Short Shifter Installation

Has anyone installed the F-sport short shift kit themselves? I was just curious how difficult/possible it was...

I have been saving up to buy it and was curious if I should factor in installation costs. I've installed short throws on 2 of my previous car, but those were crap and this is a Lexus

Thanks!

I remember seeing the Lexus established labor on this F-Sport instal and it only seems to be about a little over an hour. Not sure why it takes even that long, but I am sure it is an easy DIY.

If you look in the F-Sports thread, there are installation documents and user feedbacks. I've done the install myself and found that even though it is pretty simple to do, you can't see much of what you are doing. Took a couple hours for the install and I am glad I didn't pay $110/hr to get it installed at the dealership.

How does the not F-sport shift kit feel? Plaining on getting it? Are there any other shift kits out?

Nice find and post Venzon, although I have an AT, I still like the 6MT and all the toys that are available.

the installation is pretty straight forward; however, the area that you have to work with is extremely cramped and tight. you can't really see what you're doing so a lot of the time ur just feeling around. I opted not to remove the exhaust pipe so it was hard to get both hands up in there. i cut my hands up pretty good as well. one tip that i learned worked very well was to flip the dust boot inside out and then slip it on. once it's on, you can flip the boot back the correct way. the part that gave me the most headache was taking off and putting back on that e shaped pin! took me like 15 mins trying to get it off and about 45 minutes trying to get it back on. it was such a pita! so i would say it took about 2 hours to do everything. good luck!

I think I'll be getting it too... After driving my impreza w/ STi short throw driving any other stock shifter feels weird.
