If i went LT (lux with 18" it would be harder to find 18" snow tires).

Special order FTW!
You can get the 18" winter tires! 17" would be better for the purpose of snow. I will be running the OEM 18" rims this year with some new snow tires on to see how better or worse it is. I will let you know

I would wait and see what kind of "refresh" Lexus does to the IS before picking out body kits. My last car was a 95 Acura Integra, and they did a refresh to the car in 98 which completely changed the front and back bumpers of the car. Body kits for both cars were NOT interchangable because the changes were so drastic.

Worse case scenario to those laughing at me (which is not nice, because I never laugh at anyone), I can buy the body kit and have it fitted. There is a place where I live that can mount it regardless if the fit is slightly off.

But thanks to everyone for putting in their $0.02 some of which wasnt necessary..............I never asked anyone if it would fit. My post was about the PA option and the Bumper install.

1. no one outside of toyota has any idea of what the '09 2is's will look like - if there is a refresh.

2. no one outside of tom's has any idea if the 06-08 rear lip will fit, since they don't know if the '09 2is's will bear a refreshed exterior. also, no one outside of tom's has any idea if the rear lip will become a rear bumper due to the refresh.

therefore i find this thread purely speculative and prematurely useless.

i think we should revisit this thread when the OP finally gets his 2is - assuming his projected purchase date holds up.

too many assumptions, too much speculation.

OP = FTL.

first off, if and only if there is a face lift a. the rear could stay the same, b. if the rear does change im sure TOMS will on top of it and have something released in no time. Tuners now adays get sent new car models ahead of the dealerhips and the general public and usually have kits released around the same time as the model itself.

we CURRENT - and i stress "CURRENT" - 2is owners are an exclusively rowdy bunch. (guess what you have to do in order to join our "exclusively rowdy" bunch?)

/massive OT

post some pics when you get your tom's kit.

which should be after you get your is350.

which should be some time next year.

(which means i shouldn't hold my breath in anticipation of.)

Theres the chance the IS will have a face lift, maybe change very subtle things that may not work with the toms kit. I suggest to get the car first, and wait it out until a kit can work with it. or if theres no changes, then youre fine.
