I actually found a guy cheaper than Troy (who also quoted me $1655 for 7/100 $0 deductible Lexus Platinum on my IS350)
TOBYTOYOTA@aol.com
That's Toby Rivers from Lexus of Shreveport...$1605 for 7/100 $0 deductible Lexus Platinum on a 350. $1245 for the 7/75k for those that don't drive a lot of miles.

Skip the warranty, it's not needed. This is a Lexus. Check Consumer Reports for proof.

I haven't made the purchase yet, but I plan to...and Toby was the best price I found. It's an official Lexus warranty though so ones as good as the other in that regard.
Yeah, I know it's a Lexus.
I also know how much Lexus parts cost.
You'd be hard pressed to find a single repair that costs LESS than the cost of the extended warranty. Doubly so if you have any of the fancy stuff on the car (backup camera, ML, nav, dynamic cruise, etc).
I might end up with the 7/75 though since I don't put a ton of miles on the car... (next week will be 8 months since purchase and I'm just under 5k miles now).
So if I -never- need a single repair then I paid $8 a week for peace of mind in years 5, 6, and 7.
if I DO need even one repair I'm probably ahead of the game. Let alone more.
I'd probably skip it if I was paying MSRP on it, but close to invoice is worth it in my mind...but that was true of the car itself for that matter.

When I picked up my '07 IS 350 last June I purchased the Lexus 7yr/100k extended warranty with $0 deductible for $1605. This was dealer cost and they even broke out their paperwork to prove it. So it looks like this is roughly $200 above cost. See if they can come down another $100 or so.
If they accommodate, this would be a great deal

I'm sure he isn't doing this for nothing.
I've heard or read $1505 is dealer's cost.

I have a 2007 IS250 AWD and bought a Lexus Platinum Warranty from Toby at Lexus of Shreveport in Louisiana. I live in NY. We did everything on the phone. In 2 weeks I received the policy from Lexus and I am in the Lexus System. He is a very nice guy and had the lowest price when I was looking for quotes a few months ago.

Extended warranties are bets that something will happen to your car within the warranty period that will cost at least as much to fix as the value of the warranty. Not a good bet on a Lexus.
Dealers consider these pure profit items, and laugh all the way to the bank. They really get a kick out of it when someone haggles for hours over the price of the car, and then drops $2k on an intangible like this that will probably never get used.
It's your money, but realize that the dealer wouldn't sell extended warranties if they were losing money on them. In other words, odds are that you're much better off banking that money and using it if ever needed for a repair.
