Default Need recommendations on a new steering wheel cover

Well, after 128k, the leather on the bottom of my steering wheel has given it up.

I need to get it redone and I was wondering what options there are out there. I'd like to stick to a black leather similar to the OEM.

Thanks!
George

IMO, all steering wheel covers are ugly. You can get a whole new steering wheel for ~$600 now.

That's all well and good, now back to the topic - anyone recommend a good cover?

I'm confused by your post. You say the leather on your steering wheel is messed up and you "need to get it redone." So are you looking to actually fix the leather (what I interpreted "get it redone" to mean) or just cover it up to hide the damage? I thought perhaps you meant the former, and was merely giving you another option (i.e. a complete steering wheel replacement).

If what you meant is the latter, try eBay.

I would use these guys, http://www.dallassteeringwheel.com/

I bought a new Tundra and had the dealer do the leather seats which turned out good. After I wanted the steering wheel and the shift **** covered to match. I sent him the shift know and a headrest (so he could match the color) and he had a Tundra steering wheel in stock. Sent everything to me which was perfect, then I sent him back my wheel as a core. I think his name was Don, price wasn't bad at all and I was VERY impressed with their work.

Thanks, I'll give them a call and see how if they have an IS350 wheel in stock I can switch.

Basically I want to either a) get it refinished or b) find a good cover to cover the damage. A new wheel for a 4+ year old car with 128k mileage isn't going to happen for me, I may look into junk yard ones to see how much they run.

I would take Brociouz advice and get a new one, there are no good looking covers out there.

Plus think of this, get it recovered and it will last a long time because of the higher quality leather, get another OEM one, and it will do it again down the road.

CoasterG, here is a link to a write up I did when I got the wheel back with pictures.

http://www.tundratalk.net/forums/tun...-****-sr5.html

$229 for the wheel isn't bad, I will probably be sending my IS350 wheel to him soon since mine is getting a little ratty.
