Default LED low beam--- why not?

why has no one fitted LED bulbs in the low beam?
I recently fitted my DRLs wit the LEDs (thanks IEmaestro!) but I was wondering why those w/o HIDs like me havent fitted LED bulbs in the low beams...

is there a reason for this? or can anyone think of a reason why this wouldnt work...

thanks guys

Because LED's dont do a good job with distance, and im sure its very dangerous to drive with LED headlights.

I beg to differ. Implemented properly, they're brighter than halogens. In fact, the $120,000 Lexus LS600h has LED headlights from the factory.

So does the platinum edition of the Cadillac Escalade: http://w1.siemens.com/innovation/en/...ino_0802_2.htm

The reason people aren't doing it is that the special LEDs and lenses that would be needed to retrofit a halogen housing aren't available.

Even if LED lights are as bright as halogens why are they using them instead of HID's since HID's are much brighter?

don't think it is same like "putting a LED bulb instead of HID or Halogen" in same place.

To make them shine like on LS600h as not so easy technology. But it is comming to cars so far...next is audi r8...
