i took my car to the dealership today because my stock lip was falling off, well the adhesive is giving out, but they told me that since i scratch the bottom of my lip they might not warrenty it! they'll lookin and thinkin it over and gonna give me a call later. does anyone no anything about this? all i wanted was for them to take the bumper off and put new double sided tapes on it

This is like saying, "I slightly bumped into a pole and now the bumper has some scratches and some clips snapped because of it, can you warranty it?" I don't think any dealer will warranty something like that.
If I were the dealer i'd say something along these lines, "Since your lip is scratched you might have accidentally hit a dip going pretty fast and the lip came loose. This is the owner's fault not the manufacturer's so, i'm sorry we cannot warranty your lip."

With something as simple as this, you can buy some double sided tape and have a little DYI project. I would also screw in a couple nails into the bottom up to prevent it from happening again.

My lip was hanging off--and it was because I caught it on a parking bumper (twice!). They charged me straight labor to snap it back into place--$20. If you lip was hanging off because you scuffed it on a curb or parking bumper, it's not a warranty issue. If it magically fell off by itself, well then convince them you have no idea about the scratches....
