A few months ago I set out with a goal to enter my car in the annual Toyotafest Event here in Long Beach, CA. (5/3/08)

I planned a handful of subtle upgrades that I was able to get done in a short amount of time.. Very difficult when you are squeezing in "wrench time" late hours of the night or in between everyday life responsibilities.

I didn't expect to win anything at the Event as there were many, many nice cars parked throughout - including quite a few award wining Club Lexus member cars!!

Toyotafest organizers had announced at the beginning of the Event that Five Axis was looking for an upcoming vehicle that fit the criteria for their Choice Award.. As many of you know, Five Axis is the company heading up the Project IS-F that debuted at SEMA 2007 and was on display in the Lexus tent this past weekend.

Well to my own surprise Troy Sumitomo of Five Axis Design, visited me earlier in the morning to talk to me about my car and possible future plans for it..
It didn't even occur to me that I was being considered...

As the HOT day went on and we basically roasted… I meet tons of great people and answered many questions on what I had done to my IS350.

Later on in the afternoon... Troy came back to the Lexus area along with Glenn who heads up the "FIVE:AD wheel line".. They pulled me aside and notified me that I was the winner of their “2008 Five Axis Choice Award”. Which meant they are offering me a set of wheels from their FIVE:AD wheel line along with a set of Yokohama Tires (the official Tire of Five Axis)

Shortly after, they had the awards ceremony and Troy gave his announcement speech indicating how they went about making their choice and then presented me with this wonderful award!!!
I was still speechless and overwhelmed with excitement that I had won….

I did the infamous “I Love what you do for me” high jump… but I think Javier likes to call it the “Lexus Leap”, when I walked off the stage…
