Tanabe Exhaust Gasket
I just got my Tanabe installed today at my local muffler shop but I noticed when I got home they didn't use the gasket and 2 bolts that came with it in the plastic bag (it was still in the trunk). I'm not sure if he didn't see it or what. Should I go back and have them put this on (don't want any exhaust leaks)? Thanks.

You can hear it if they didn't put it on. Has a clink sometimes without the gasket or when the gasket becomes corroded. I would start up the vehicle and see if you feel any heat coming off that area. Generally, gaskets sit inside a little well and you can't necessarily see them, but it depends on the setup. Some of the bolts I have seen come with gasket/muffler sets are garbage and sometimes won't even fit the holes.

Thanks for your response. For sure the gasket wasn't used because it was still inside my trunk sealed in the bag. As far as unusual noises, I don't hear anything. I'm hoping Tanabe owners can chime in and let me know, at least. I guess it doesn't hurt to return to the shop and have them put it on. I also noticed the gasket doesn't look the same on either side so it orients a certain way.
