Default Calling all blackroof-ed 2IS! (w/ pics updated)

Hey guys! I just did the blackout roof today (using vinyl), but it turned out to be "matt finish" instead of glossy (glass-like) like people here in CL have. Do you guys know what kind of vinyl they used for the black out? or you actually have to paint it to make it reflects like a mirror?

Any opinions guys??

I haven't done the black roof since I have a black car, but people of my old forum used 3m vinyl film. If you go to the site u can even order a brochure that has a sample of all the different vinyls. http://www.beacongraphics.com/3m-7125.html

Thanks!

Ohhh, so the 3M ScotchCAL ElectroCut Gloss Black is what ppl put on, to look like a huge piece of glass extends from the rear window to windshield?

actually, are those 3m vinyl scratch-proof? like at least won't make swirl when I rub it w/ my fingers (or car wash)

I really think it would look cool in a glossy finish, but I like the look

how much did it cost you? and in the future, is it hard to remove?

where are you located at? might want to have a look in person.

thanks guys, at first I feel ****ty cuz I actually wanted the glossy type. Now i feel better cuz other ppl like u guys think it is fine. hahaha

Hartawan: hahhaa it's smooth~

hapaboy: i guess normal car wash will be fine? I'll see later. lol

Eric r ho + ExTrEmE99: I did that at N-motion. They really did a good job on it, and they managed to cover the sharkfin w/ vinyl too!!! but too bad it's not the glossy type I wanted.

AK-47: It cost me 180 + tax. I don't think it will be hard to remove in the future, u just needa clean up those glue. And I live in Vancouver,BC.

It should be pretty scratch-proof. Its 2 mil and suppose to last at least 7 years. At the bottom of the site just order a free 3m Color chart and it has a sample of all their vinyls and colors.
