Oh I am not sad at all, I exected to get flamed by folks who think you shouldn't change "fine" Toyota engineering with "subpar" non-name-brand parts. A simple "No thanks, thats not my style" is a fine response. It's when people make broad assumptions that it rubs me the wrong way. And yes, expensive cars comes from the factory that way, but whats wrong with doing it to another classy car like the IS? I think it looks good and am gonna go for it. And I hold to my feelings that the IS is by no means a true sports car. If thats true, the Acura TL is a sports car along with Audi's A4, neither of which I consider sports cars, maybe sport sedans. If you want a "sports car," go purchase yourself a Cayman, A5, or a Z. And I'll waste my time all day long sir, I have plenty of it. And I totally agree with keeping this forums classy and civil. I checked on eBay for a LX-Mode type grille and came up with a nice looking mesh-type grille with a paintable surround. The only thing I am worried about it is how to attach an emblem and keep it looking classy, not just strapped to it.

I personally don't like it too much either I recommend you buy one of these:
1- Carson-Tuned grilles - Which are actually LX-Mode grilles, but you get them for less $$ and can have them painted in whatever color you want.
2- Carson-Tuned mesh grilles (Blitz grille replicas) - No longer available for sale from Carson, but you can find them every now and then being sold in the classifieds section. These are my favorites because you get the look of the Blitz grille for a lot less
3- Blitz carbon fiber grille - The best-looking aftermarket grille for the 2IS in my opinion, but costs a lot of $$$$.
Happy grille hunting

It doesn't seem like anyone likes it. Personally, I think it would look real nice on a white car. Maybe black, but if my car wasn't one of those colors I wouldn't put these grille on. Again just my opinion.

I hate that grill and just TODAY I saw someone in my damn neighborhood with it. It looks like Reynolds wrap and destroys the look and balance of the IS front end.
You want a huge chrome crap grill, get a G35.
Taste today has been displaced with "HEY LOOK AT ME" no matter how ridiculous or how big, small the car is.
