Question RE: parking sensors.....

Wanted to get the parking sensors....if dealer installed, I was told by my dealer that only rear sensors will be installed? I assume these are OEM Lexus sensors?..

why not the front sensors?...he told me that if I wanted both it has to come factory installed?

anyone have info. about this?

[looked at last years posts..but wanted to know recent info.if possible]

As far as I know, and was previously advised...there are 4 sensors...

2 in the rear bumber....

2 on the front **Side** ends, (not directly on front bumper). - Which is a little ridiculous being that it will not detect anything infront that is blocking which serves very little use.

Not sure what the dealer is talking about. Ask other memebers with the PA option.

Dealer installed sensors are NOT Lexus OEM. You can only get Lexus Park Assist from the factory.

There was a nightmare story posted a while back from a woman who made this mistake, and the dealer installed the most horribly ugly system, with black sensors (her car was white), that stuck out of the bumper about 1/4 inch, and was not tied to the warnings on the dash.

Make them SHOW YOU a car and set up they have installed before you get this. Or better yet, get the factory system.

i have factory park assist on mine.. there are actually 4 rear sensors and 2 front sensors.. yes the front 2 sensors are not located directly on the front of the bumper.. but more towards the corner which helps when your turning into or out of tight spots.. why would u need sensors directly on the front of the bumper? thats what your eyes are for.

also.. factory park assist is hooked up to ur nav screen.. when ur sensors are activated.. it displays ur car and radar strength that turn from yellow to red depending on how close u are.

My argument too. You need it in the corners and the rear, not in front of you.

Dang, I didn't know that it displays it on the nav if you have that option. And thats even cooler that you have color. I don't have nav, so mine just shows a picture of the car and a # of blocks to show how proximity to the sensor
