Default Tire question for volks.

I'm talking to this guy selling me his volks. He told me its 18x9 +38 in the back and 18x8.5 ( he doesn't know the offset in the front). I'm assuming that this is no problem. What's the best tires i can swap onto those wheels?

STOP... did it come off a 350? Not all rims will clear our front brakes...

If it was me, I'll stick with 235/40 front or 225/40. Rear 255 shouldn't be a problem.

FYI I've ordered 18x8 front and 18x9 rear Volk rims. Plan on fitting 225/40 front and 255/40 rear tires. Also have plans on dropping the car in the future so.....

you should run a 235 front, and a 265 rear, you wont rub, especially with a +38 on a 9 inch rim. and a i just changed my fronts from a 245 to a 235, because it rubbed. and with the front rim it should be fine as long as it is not over a +29 offset, then you may encounter some problems.

LOL...his cousin is my boy's girlfriend. His tires are worn though so i probably need to change those out. If they dont fit our brakes, i'll probably sell them.

if hes your neighbor, tell him you want a test fit for the front tires first just to make sure... even thou we have the same brakes as the GS, no harm in asking and double checking first. LOL and im sure neighbor knows, once you see your car with the rims on... 'SOLD'
