I have been thinking about getting XM in my 08 IS250. I don't want to install it myself either. About how much would it cost to get it installed someplace?

if you went to an aftermarket stereo install shop, probably $50 - $100 for the labor (pretty easy install) plus the cost of the XM tuner (the shark fin antenna is pre-wired on all 07+ IS's). If youre interested, i have an OEM XM tuner that came factory installed in my IS350 that i removed to install SIRIUS in its place. ill give you a good deal on it. PM me if youre interested.

there is a DIY post in here so if you are capable then its about 30 minutes of your time on the weekend! Many on here have done this. We can help you get it done and save you the $$$ the stealership will charge

I installed mine on my '08, and it took about 90 mins. It's not terribly hard, but if you cringe at the idea of having to take apart your trunk trim panels, then get someone to do it for you.

i asked my dealer how much for sirius and they said 990 thats without taxes and fees thats just parts and labor i said no thank you

I called up my dealer today to see how much it would cost to get XM radio installed as I had a 20% off coupon emailed to me. With the 20% it would still cost $636 plus tax. A little too much. Has anyone had any exp with getting it installed at a Best Buy or Circuit City type of place?

I had a stereo installed at best buy in a different vehicle. No way would I ever let them touch my car again. They are not good!

You could do this in no more than an hour at most. To say its easy is an understatement. I put it in my wifes car going by the DIY thread here.

well i didnt read too many replies from this but, there is a great write up on how to do this yourself if you buy the xm brain from lexus, pretty much plug and play once you tear your trunk apart, but if you want from lexus its about $800 total...i believe they quoted me $300 for unit and $500 for labor...

Yeah, just do it yourself. I think it's under $300 in parts from one of the vendors here, then maybe 1-2 hours tops to install yourself, just removing some panels in the trunk and plug it in.
