I bought a 07' IS250 from a Toyota dealership and they didnt have alot of the options it had listed, so anyways... I am just trying to see if I have the HID lights

When I go to the menu by the tach and spedometer one of the options is AFS ON, or AFS OFF. ? I am wondering if they have that option on there even if you dont really have it?

Also doing some research trying to figure this out... someone suggested looking for a spark or something when you have someone esle turn the lights on?

When I turn the lights on while parked facing a wall, I dont see the lights self-level...

Any other suggestions? Thanks!

on the '07's the HID lights are standard on all is250, is350's.

yeah, I dont think they are standard.

They are part of the Luxury package in 08' and an option.

HIDs are not dull by nature, you can tell just by looking at the beam, they should be very bright.

Also, most HID lights should swivel downwards and up when turned on. This is so the brightness don't blind people.

just listen and see if they buzz when u turn them on. if u lack the buzzing sound u dont have hid's. my car buzzes too much hid fogs also...BUZZZZZZZ!!!! hahaha

HID became a standalone option for 2007 and UP.

If you have AFS, You should have HID. The auto leveling system only does it the first few seconds after the car is started. So if you want to check, turn on your lights first, then start the car, OR start the car and turn on the lights right away.

More than likely, your 2007 IS has HID lights unless the car was a special order and the previous owner did not opt for the HID lights.

To the OP:

If you have the option for AFS on/off using the < o > buttons, then I'm 99% sure that you have HID's, because I don't have HIDs and don't have the option on my on-screen display. (the 1% is if Lexus changed it later in the model years)

well i bought my 07 in sep of 06 and it seems that HID are pretty much standard if you bought any 250/350 on the lot for 07, now if you special ordered one then maybe you had the option not to get them, but flat out look at your light beam on whitewall you should see a faint line of blue on top level or turn off car and turn on lights ...you should hear the hummm...

Ok, YES, i do see the fant blue line.WOW, I honestly thought I didnt have the HID package, but I guess I do.. cool! thanks!!!

( I finally heard the hum! it only lasts for a few seconds right after i turn them on) very interesting!
