Default To race or not to race at stop light

Ok so yesterday and other several occassions when I'm at a stop light (no traffic ahead) and the car next to me wanted to race. My car is not modded, just bone stock 250. I like this car too much to get an accident or ticket. I bought this car for driving comfort and luxury and not for racing. Are they picking on this model? I know modded cars get more attention for this. I'm sure most of you are in this situation before and just wanted to know from CL members what you do. If you have a 350, do you smoke 'em or ignore 'em?

ignore them. Public road racing FTL! Not worth putting other people in danger, including yourself and the other moron that wanted to race.

I have a 250 and have gotten that a few times. I think they see IS and automatically think it is a 350.

Unless your racing for pinks it isnt worth it since gas is getting higher and higher.

I agree....you're a tard if you race on the streets.

If you really want to feel the thrill of racing, go autocrossing..or hit your local 1/8 or 1/4 mile track.

God do I miss autocrossing....

Not worth getting a ticket, an accident or the $4.15/gallon!

definately not worth it. Anyways true story. I was at a stoplight with a full car and when i say a full car i mean there were 5 ppl in it, lol. A sti pulls up next to me, starts to rev his engine and as soon as the light turns green he takes off. Even if i wanted to race i dont id be dumb enough to do it with a full car.

street racing ftl.

street racing..
honestly..it is very tempting time to time..LOL
but seriously..IS250 isn't made for racing..it's just TOO GOOD to be used in
street racing..and we all know that IS250 isn't the fastest car out there..
I used to do a little "street racing" when I used to have G35 6MT,,
but now that I think about it..I was being stupid...acting like a kid..

so now..no street racing..and the GAS is crazy nowadays..right?
if you wanna show that your IS or MODDED IS is fast enough..then
take it to the track..

nono i know may be tempting but ur riding in style no need to waste gas and put others in harm, also risk the chances of an accident. which is far more painful in the end to see ur ride wrecked.

No goofing around for me either. We have a new stretch of highway in Illinois (I355) and the COPS are really nailing people. This is a heads up to all Chicago CL Members. I really don't goof around anymore. I love the ISX50 for it's smoothness and luxury. One of the main reasons I love the IS not for a race car but rather: the additional features designed to increase the comfort of the driver and passengers. Luxury vehicles usually place more emphasis on comfort, appearance, and amenities such as technological upgrades and higher quality materials than on performance, economy, or utility. Luxury vehicles are often built in smaller numbers than more affordable mass-market vehicles.
