Unfortunately had a somewhat similar situation with my dealer in Orlando. Said I could only get the options I wanted on an IS350 (I wanted a 250) and they insisted I'd have to pay MSRP for it. They seemed like nice guys but I found this absurd and after some research, a lie.

I called about 6 dealerships in the area (200 mi radius) and was honest about the special order I was looking for and the price I was looking for ($2000 above invoice+TTL) and made it clear the first one that could do it for me would get my business. I had the deal done that same day with a very nice and honest dealership and sales rep in the internet sales department.

So don't accept that nonsense, call around and find someone who will special order it the way you want for a fair price.

I just want a 350 and be happy with it might just have to take the is250 manual they would of sold it to me for 29k
Before you purchase an IS350 and NOT settle on an IS250, have you considered the new BMW 135i? $40 to $42k gets one heck of a car!

OP did not say $44k was the MSRP. That was the selling price. Until we know the MSRP no one can tell if this is a good deal or not. If the MSRP was $45k it wouldn't be a very good deal, but if it included GFX kit, satellite radio, Nav/ML, upgraded wheels, park assist, radar speed control, etc then it might be a good deal.

i was in the same boat as you... i only wanted is350 didnt care about the extras but to be honest im glad i did get the nav.... very useful and it is easier to sell later on..... and ur dealer is right it is hard to find a lexus that is a base model,,,

paid 3700 less on sticker... with tax and everything i paid 43k out the door.. put 10k down and finance 33k real total after apr comes to be 48...i had to go to 2 different dealers...

But I don't think the OP is looking for a "deal" of any sort, and appears that he could care less if it was $60K car that he could buy for $44K. Instead, he's just wondering if he can buy one with minimal options. The option list can really increase the cost of the car, for things that may be needless for the buyer.

Since he called it "fully loaded" and at a price of $44K, and is wondering about a "basic one with no options", it's probably safe to assume that the accessory/option column was somewhat filled.

although, we all know what happens when one assumes.....
