ride with whomever you choose. i was just trying to make a legal point that big corps get into trouble by having policies that can be construed by lawyers as being dangerous and/or careless, that's all. sorry if anyone was offended or thought my post was off base, to each his/her own.

I wasn't disputing the fact that safety is the best policy. Just like you said, the situation could be avoided, in this case by getting a ride from a family member. If the OP was uncomfortable with his wife riding with the tow truck driver, that's totally understandable and his prerogative to not have her ride in the truck. The towing service was a courtesy provided by Lexus that no one forced anyone to use.
