Default is350 navi conversion

I am noob to this website and I'm confused about how to search on here. I have a been trying to search for a post about is350 navigation system. I just bought an 06" is350 and it didn't come with a navi system. What do I need to do in order to change it over to the OEM navigation system? Please help.

There was an oem navi headunit in the for sale forum Or e-bay, don't remember for around $1k, beyond that I'm not really sure what else you'll need. if you want the ML sound system as well... well your looking at spending a lot of dough. Try some local junk yards, I also saw a post here a few days ago for a bunch of salvaged 350's for sale. You may luck out, but it might be cheaper to just get an aftermarket indash nav system, but I haven't seen an install of an aftermarket sytem that looked as good as the oem unit in this car.

My $.02 is that you'd be better served with an aftermarket in-dash unit. I think the OEM nav will cost you at least twice as much as a top of the line aftermarket one.

However, I'm not trying to discourage you...if you really want the OEM setup, go for it!

OEM nav costs like 4x a top rated portable nav when ordering new. Retrofitting is far more expensive (double the cost if you cant DIY). Might as well turn around and sell it and buy another used with nav..

Welcome to Club Lexus! You should take a look at the FAQ's for the 2IS, it has many of the answers you're looking for, including this one. Also, searching for "nav conversion" would have yielded this thread, which I'll now merge this new one into.

Default Lexus indash navigation

I just bought a CPO 2006 Lexus IS350. It has the premium speakers, but no navigation/DVD. I was wondering if I could buy it and then have it installed, or does the car have to come like that from factory?

If I can, does anyone know the price for the navi?

If its impossible to, has anyone installed an aftermarket indash? (double-din preferably). ANy pictures?
