That's coolant fluid from the radiator. May have a leak somewhere, but check the level and fill up if low. Just bring it to your dealer to have them check it out and see if it's major. Don't let them rip you off though, tell them to ask you before doing any work, but doesn't really seem major, could be wrong.

I don't have a problem with that. What year is your car, and how many miles?

Yes. Mine has the exact same appearance. It is coolant. Clean it off with water if you don't like it. Taking it to the dealer is a total waste of time.

Yes just wipe it off. Someone probably removed the cover of the overflow tank and it leaked out a bit. Make sure cover is tightly on, just press down on it. Its common.

In Europe..long life coolants with 5 year changes and oils with 30000km service intervals have been around since 2001.. even in the cheapest cars.

Agreed... Just make sure the cap is cleaned & secured..

I also took it a step further and replaced my overflow hose with a new longer one, to the bottom of the radiator fan shroud..
The way it should have been from the factory..!!!

Now I have "no pink discharge" anywhere... If its going to overflow out of that hose (which it wont), it will end up on the oil filter service door/panel..
instead of a few drops making a mess in the engine area(s)

I'll take pics when i do my next oil change..

Most Toyota/Lexus vehicles do the same thing. Nothing to worry about. IMO really poor seal around the cap / bad overflow bottle design. Just my .02!
