Current stock rims are as follows:
IS250 RWD:
F: 17x8 +45; 225/45/17
R: 17x8 +45; 245/45/17

I'm leaning towards getting the 18" Volk Racing GTMs.. Am considering the sizes right now (See above). Am thinking of going with the following setup:

F: 18x8 +38; 225/40/18
R: 18x9 +38; 245/40/18 or 255/35/18

Will that work and look all nice and flushed? What I don't understand from the table above is the "rim depth". Can anyone enlighten me on that? Cheers!

Why not run 19" wheels?



If you really want 18's, and you have an IS250:


Option 1 = 18x8J +35 (B DISK) Front 26mm LIP
18x9J +39 (C DISK) Rear 45mm LIP

This combo will fit with no issues, and should be as flush as you could get without fender mods.



Option 2 = 18x8J +29 (B DISK) Front 32mm LIP
18x9J +33 (C DISK) Rear 51mm LIP

This would be as agressive a fittment as you could attempt, and you will get deeper dish wheels with bigger lips. You may need to roll the fender lips.



I would think you will need to really lower the car with drop springs to make the 18" wheels look correct, especially with a bright flashy wheel like the GTM.

Most everyone seems to ask why not 19s? Well, two reasons: One, not enough money and two, I'm not the only person driving it so I gotta maintain the ride comfort level or at least try to keep it as close as possible.

I'll definitely be dropping the ride with Eibach.. the UK version one though where it's an inch drop all around. Got quoted SGD750 inclusive of installation and balancing. That's around USD540.

Any more comments/suggestions are more than welcomed. Thanks guys.

If you are saying your significant other is going to drive the car, go with option #1.

I would suggest Tein S springs from an IS350 rather than Eibach. That will give you the drop you need.

Tein's might be a bit too aggressive of a drop.. but the question I have is this: do the aftermarket springs for IS350 work on the IS250 as well??

Also, Lama.. how do you know what wheel setup fits for the IS250? I mean, is it based on experience or is there some way of calculating the numbers?

yup if you are gonna upgrade...might as well save some money and go with 19s for the win.

19's all the way. i think its a waste of money to upgrade and not get at least 19's. even though i think 20's are too big IS

umm... rims on a car that the wife will drive... i truly suggest you wait a couple of yrs first and IF theres no curb damage to the stock rims THEN get real rims... chicks seem to get some miraculous damage sometimes, it just magicly appears cuz they have no idea how it got there...
