if you key fob battery is completely dead and you don't have a spare battery,
how can you open the car door?
i know you can start the car no matter if your key fob battery is dead or not.
but what about the door?
can this happen?
i tried to search but couldn't find it.
please let me know.

Thats what the key part of the fob is for....to get you in the car.

use the key part to pop off the cover on the right hand part of the handle.(the little triangle looking thing) then u will see the key slot. theres a lil slot for the key to fit to pop off the cover. this info is explained in the car manual

If your car is under warranty, go to your Lexus dealership and they should replace your fob free of charge....at least that's what my dealership told me? But until then, pull top latch (corner) off of your fob and hold that part by your door handle to unlock and up against to your push button to start the car.

Remember ..... the Owner's Manual is your friend. It shows how to do it. Better to know this sort of stuff before you get caught out at night without a clue as to what to do.

Dealer won't replace your fob if the battery wears out. And they may or may not replace the battery for free. It's not covered by the warranty and if they charge you it'll be about $20. There is no excuse for anyone to get stuck with a dead fob battery. For a couple of bucks you can get a half dozen of these batteries on eBay. I keep one in my glove box and the rest I keep in the freezer. You won't normally find them at most stores, they are a rare bird.

Um...my dealership replaced mine for free plus gave me an extra one for the trouble. I had to get mine replaced because I left it in my pocket while putting it in the washing machine
