Thumbs down tint ticket :(, and its uncorrectable???

so I got pulled over for having tint on my front windows, 35%. anyway instead of the ticket being checked as correctable the cop listed the offense as non correctable. I'm assuming this mean I'll just have to pay the fine? anyone in southern California have some experience with this? supposedly the ability for cops to mark the ticket as non correctable is new in CA, it used to be that all tint tickets were fix-its...or so ive heard through a google search. anyone have any info on this? oh and I got the ticket in the west Covina district, ive heard all sorts of numbers but $114 seems to be the magic number for others on the same boat

Well i don't think it matter what district you are in. It's the state. Isn't it legal to have 35%? The front windows need to allow a total of 70% of light in so i don't see what the problem in. Maybe cops in your district is strict about it.

there is a post on here that shows what your state will allow...search for it. if you are in spec them fight them, if not then you have no choice other then to pay the fine and take the risk of another ticket.

If it is legal to have 35% tint, wouldn't that allow 65% light in and not 70% mathematically (LOL)!!! Alright, with out busting your chops, most states have a ban on any form of tint or film (other than factory---I.E. Privacy glass shaded in lightly). This does stink, but the reason and rational is for police safety. I have dealt with all the loop holes here in Illinois over the past 15 years of having tint. I always did 35% all the way around and usually was not messed with. In Illinois, you can't have any tint on the driver front and front passenger window just like Cali.

in CA tinting the front windows is illegal. The law here is that the front windows need to allow 70% light transmission. A 35% tint only allows 35% light transmission.

I think tinting front windshield is illegal in Georgia too, and 35% rule applies, but not like the authorities in Atlanta are too concerned. I have had heavy tints (20% or less) for last 10 years and have only been questioned once, while driving out in suburbs (Norcross) late night in my old 95 Corolla.

But really we still have blacked-out old Ford Escorts and it is fair. I suppose if one were to be pulled over it could be questioned, but Tint in general is non-issue in Atlanta.

In Atlanta, it seems as though if you have a newer car, then you have no issues whatsoever. My black IS350 has Formula One 50% on front and 10% elsewhere, it is nicley darked-out. never any questions. Too VIP!

What about brow tint? I'm considering having mine done in TX. What's the most common % used for it?

i got a tint ticket just last month and since i wasnt being all polite to the cop, he gave me the fine instead of a fix-it. The fine came trough the mail and its $114. You just have to go to the court and pay off the fine or mail it in. If you go to the court and pay, drive someone else's car just in case lol. At least with a fine you dont have to worry about taking it off and putting it on again.

was your ticket marked correctable or not correctable? If it was marked not correctable I will probably do the same thing
