You won't have a problem at all. I beat him off the line, but he smoked me obviously. I wish I could find that damn time slip, but it was back in August.
I do know, FOR A FACT, he hit the 1/4 in the high 90 mph's, didn't come close to hitting 100 mph.

Took out a GT two days ago actually, the guy was revving and lurching beside me so I thought maybe he had some mods done, but it was a real let down, the 350 absolutely destroyed him. He also launched really bad though, so I'm sure thats the only reason he lost.

I can tell you from personal experience (I have an 05 mustang GT convertible manual tranny, so keep that in mind with regard to weight, etc), that the two will be a VERY close race. Also, I have the same mods on both cars (K&N filter and axle-back exhaust)
The IS is fast, probably faster on the highway from a rolling start. Just mash the gas and your off like a rocket. The mustang, on the other hand, is probably slower. IIRC, the automatics are terribly slow at downshifting (unless you get a programmer), and with a manual you're dealing with driver technique. But, still, I think the IS downshifts faster than the mustang can, especially with the IS in power mode. Even if they are the same acceleration wise on the highway, the IS FEELS faster due to it's quick and high revving nature.
Now, on the other hand, the mustang is probably faster off the line. And, it definitely FEELS faster. It pins you back in your seat and gives you a total rush that the IS can't. When you upshift, you can feel the car untorque itself.
But, when all is said and done: the two vehicles are COMPLETELY different, and are made with two different purposes. Also, a simple programmer (ie- Superchips, Diablosport) can unleash the mustangs immensely.
BTW, once the summer comes, I do plan on finding an area to give you my personal race results.

I agree that stock for stock IS350 will win every time in the quarter mile. I have raced several stock and slightly modified and they are lucky to break into the 13's.
