i only get some fog in my rear windshield. it's annoying, but it goes away after a minute or two. as for my front windshield, when i first turn on the climate control a small amount of fog appears at the base of the glass, but disappears within seconds. like isuxel said, clean the inside of your windows. lotsa oils and stuff build up there.

Perhaps the reason for this is because the fit and finish on this car is so good that it prevents the air inside the car from easily escaping the vehicle..........I have no idea what I'm talking about.
This post was hillarious!!! I fell off my chair!!! You rock, thanks!!

Do not use rain-x antifog on your interior windows, it will cause more problems than it is worth. That is why most stores pulled this product form the shelves several years back. Do not use the wax bars as well, this is all junk. Just use a good glass cleaner with amonia to remove build-up especially if you drive with the windows down and sunroof open a lot.

Make sure that whatever position you have the HVAC system set to, that it is in the fresh air setting, not recirculate.

Bringing this one back up from the dead..

I've noticed the fogging issues, but I've also noticed that my windshield gets these weird fog streaks across it when its fogging up. I've never seen this type of streaking before. If its raining the wiper blade will take the rain off, but it looks like there's streaking inside the glass. I'm assuming its some sort of fogging since it goes away if I turn the heat up, but doesnt fog like normal windshields do. Has anyone else seen this? I cant throw up a pic later to show people what I'm talking about.

These Lexus IS cars seem to have this problem than the other cars I own and or recently owned including Mercedes, Porsche, Ford, Jeep, Jag. I'm not sure exactly why.

Damn haven't gotten the chance to drive my IS in these Chicago winters yet. That sucks about the foggy windows. This same thing happens in my Subaru really bad and it's frustrating keeping the damn air on the windows the whole time. Either it gets too cold from blowing the A/C or too hot from the heating. So like Holyking I turn on my heat on and open a window just a little bit (no sunroof on the Subaru haha).

And the whole recirculation vs. the other button to bring air in does not make a difference. I tried this and absolutely no change. Damn it I'm gonna hate driving the IS next winter.

For the front, there is an air flow setting which directs air up towards the windshield and down to the floor. I use that and it works even with the system on recirc; no defroster necessary. For the rear, I use the mirror/rear window defroster.

@ OPTIK

I had the same streaking/fogging issue after having an aftermarket Pilkington windshield installed and swore the glass was defective... Try treating windshield with Aquaplex for $7, worked for me and repels water like crazy...Treatment is suppose to last for 6 months...
