No kidding. Had an ES loaner that had 1/4 tank and said 50 mi range when i left the dealer lot. I'm thinking, "Wow, that's way off". Before I knew it, the gas light was on and I had barely 2 ticks left on the gauge. I wasn't in the mood to experiment...

Yeah, this is why I know you can go 40+ miles past the Zero Mile mark. The needle just drops to fast once you hit 1/4 tank.

Wait wait wait... so when the tank says there's 0 miles left in the tank there's actually fuel still in there? And all this time I've felt like a chump being scared when there's one mile left.

Yes, on the highway you can go 50+ miles past the ZERO mark. Since you have a 250 you can almost certainly hit 50 miles.

Just wondering how many miles can you actually drive when the gas light comes on. I've tried 40 miles and stopped, was afraid it might hurt my new car. How about you guys?

doesn't the info screen tell you how many miles/km left?

There is a 2 gallon reserve when the miles reach zero. Multiply your avg MPG by 2 and thats about how many miles you can go AFTER your remaining miles reaches zero.

This reminds me of that Seinfeld episode with Kramer trying to go as far as possible with the gas light on.

I went about 45 miles past when my distance reading said 0. Then I chickened out and got some gas. Not good for the engine to do that anyway.

Well today I went 25 miles passed ZERO. It was mostly city driving too. Thats my record so far. I'm sure I can get 40+ miles on the highway.

Also got 426 miles out of that tank.

Kind of glad I got a 250 because I spent $63 on gas today! Most that I ever spent.
