I saw the Pebble Beach SC and it had the white illuminated Scuff Plates. It was fairly bright in the service center but when i looked at it, it didn't really look all that bright. How noticeable is the plates in the day time?

in the direct sublight they are not as noticeable. But they do brighten the longer the door is open......I think.

In the direct day time light they are not noticeable..

They are very noticebale in a garage and especially night time dark areas..

The Illumination on the Sills will DIM In & Out just as the main DOOR / Dome light does.

hey joez im doing this mod now on a 06 430. i have everything working except the rears. they light up but only react to the front doors being opened and closed.

did you follow the US instructions for wiring the front sills? which wire and where did you tap the rear sill to? the pink wire, i hear so much about but have yet to find the right one after 2 blown fuses.

any help is much appreciated thanks

The 2nd Generation IS doesn't have illuminated scuff plates in the rear, only the front. What you need to do in your GS is find the wire that's connected to the rear door striker and tap into that (hopefully it's not in that loom of 40 wires underneath the scuff plates bound together with black tubing). I'm only guessing, but it's probably accessible by removing the rear seat bottom. Good luck!
